Cowbell, a provider of AI-native cyber and specialty insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises, has launched Risk Advisor, an individualized AI agent designed to give policyholders an evidence-backed plan for reducing cyber risk. The agent operates within OMNI, Cowbell’s AI-native Decision Intelligence System, and turns the company’s risk data into prioritized actions for each insured business.
Risk Advisor is available through the Cowbell Platform and the Cowbell OMNI mobile app. Its recommendations are based on each policyholder’s cybersecurity posture and insurance policy, drawing on Cowbell Factors, Spotlights, security findings, connector data and real-time threat intelligence.
The system identifies which issues deserve attention first, explains why they matter and recommends practical actions. Cowbell said the aim is to help smaller companies interpret security data without requiring an internal team of cybersecurity specialists.
With OMNI, every Cowbell policyholder gets their own AI Risk Advisor, grounded in their business, security posture, and policy context.
Rajeev Gupta, co-founder and chief product officer of Cowbell
He said the system continuously interprets signals around each business and connects policyholders with Cowbell’s cybersecurity specialists when human support is needed.
Risk Advisor links cyber signals to specific actions
Businesses often receive substantial amounts of security information without having enough time or specialist knowledge to assess it. Risk Advisor brings those signals together and explains which factors are influencing a company’s risk score, which findings need attention first and what individual vulnerabilities mean for the organization.
The agent also prioritizes recommendations based on urgency and expected risk reduction. Each recommendation includes the evidence behind it, giving policyholders a basis for deciding which issues to address immediately and which belong in a longer-term security plan.
For companies using artificial intelligence, Risk Advisor interprets three AI Cowbell Factors: AI Exposure for observability, AI Vulnerability for autonomy and AI Assurance for governance. It explains the signals associated with each factor and prioritizes actions intended to improve the policyholder’s AI risk position.
According to Gupta, a policyholder asking why its risk score changed during the week receives an answer tied to specific findings.
Risk Advisor distinguishes confirmed detections from advisory indicators and ranks actions according to their expected effect on risk.
More than 60 Cowbell Connectors are available to provide additional information from policyholders’ technology environments. Risk Advisor explains what each connection contributes, summarizes findings from connected tools and recommends mitigations based on the configurations it detects.
OMNI uses data from more than 55mn businesses
Risk Advisor draws on OMNI’s operational ontology and Cowbell’s Global Risk Pool, which contains data on more than 55mn businesses. Cowbell said OMNI continually validates its model against live operations as both the platform and the risk environment change.
Routine changes are incorporated automatically, while material differences are sent for human review. This process is intended to keep Risk Advisor’s output current without requiring policyholders or Cowbell staff to rebuild the underlying model manually.
The system is designed to go beyond document retrieval or generic AI-generated summaries. Recommendations remain connected to the signals and sources behind them, giving policyholders visibility into the information used before they decide how to respond.
When an issue requires specialist assistance, Risk Advisor connects users with Cowbell Resiliency Services and the company’s in-house cybersecurity experts.
Cowbell said the combination gives policyholders a direct route from identifying a cyber issue to selecting and carrying out a response.
