Re/insurance broker Miller has strengthened its presence in Asia by launching Miller Korea, focusing on delivering global specialty expertise to the Korean market. A team of specialist insurance and reinsurance brokers will lead its operations.
David Kim has been appointed head of Korea business. He brings over 25 years of experience, having served as CEO of Marsh Korea and played a key role in establishing Johnson and Higgins Korea before its acquisition by Marsh.
His background also includes a decade in the investment sector with companies like Morgan Stanley in Japan.
Kim highlighted Miller’s ambitions in Asia and the opportunities in Korea. “Having worked in Korea for over 20 years, I see significant potential and look forward to working with the team to expand our presence in the region,” he said.
Miller Korea has also made several key hires. Andrew Kim, who has worked with Hanwha General Insurance, Chubb, Marsh, Lockton, and most recently as CEO for Korea at AmTrust, joins the team. Youngkum Yoon will serve as head of finance and operations. Tae Hoon Kim will focus on large property and casualty clients in sectors such as energy.

Miller’s growth strategy in Asia includes the acquisition of Japanese broker Lead Insurance Services in 2022 and the recent appointments of Tokinori Kono and Satoshi Watanabe, who will enhance Miller’s product capabilities in Japan.
