Alberto Messina – Senior Director, EMEA Insurance at Fitch Ratings
Alberto Messina is the Senior Director of Insurance for EMEA at Fitch Ratings. He joined Fitch in October 2019 as a Director in the insurance division and was promoted to Senior Director in March 2024. In this role, he is responsible for analyzing and assessing insurance companies across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Before joining Fitch, Messina held several senior actuarial roles. He was Actuarial Lead at KPMG Luxembourg from July 2018 to September 2019, where he led actuarial projects and advised clients on insurance-related matters. Prior to that, he served as Head of Actuarial Reporting at Lombard International Assurance from July 2017 to July 2018 and held the same position at Legal & General from October 2016 to July 2017.
Messina has also been a Member of the Big Data Working Group – Scientific Committee at the International Actuarial Association from May 2016 to February 2021, contributing to research and development in data analytics and actuarial science.
He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Actuarial Science from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (2000-2005) and is an Associate Member of the International Actuarial Association. In February 2023, he earned the Aspire certification from Fitch Group, Inc.
