David Bell – Head of aviation Gallagher Re
David Bell joined Capsicum Re in February 2020. David is based in London and has been solely involved in Aviation Insurance/ Reinsurance for 36 years, beginning his career at C.T .Bowring in 1983 as a trainee claims broker. He then moved to the airline broking side and then on to Reinsurance broking, where Bowring had one of the largest accounts in the market so experiencing every form of aviation reinsurance contracts across a global client base.
Further time was spent in Marsh Space Projects and then moving to Aon to continue with Space Reinsurance business. As the Space market changed, David was moved to help additionally with mainstream aviation reinsurance again and that led to working on and then assuming all aspects of Reinsurance. Immediately prior to joining Capsicum Re David was head of global aviation insurance for AIG and so has seen all aspects of broking and insurance underwriting including working with a ceded reinsurance team on a global programme.
