Rainer Egloff – Senior Risk Manager at Swiss Re Institute
Since 2012, Dr. Rainer Egloff is Foresight Chapter Lead and Senior Emerging Risk Manager at Swiss Re Institute’s Foresight, Research & Modelling team, which is dedicated to early risk detection.
2012-2014, he also served as expert liaison to coordinate Swiss Re’s input to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report.
His team scans the risk horizon and develops foresight to identify emerging risks and business opportunities. It hosts the SONAR process and annually curates and publishes Swiss Re’s flagship publication Swiss Re SONAR – New emerging risk insights.
Before joining Swiss Re in 2012, Rainer Egloff worked as an academic manager, researcher and lecturer at Collegium Helveticum, a scholarly institution devoted to transdisciplinarity, sponsored by ETH Zurich and University of Zurich. Rainer holds a Doctorate degree in history from the University of Zurich.
He also worked as science policy consultant and scientific advisor to the Swiss Science and Technology Council.
