Aggne, a Wipro company and provider of insurance technology and consulting services, has completed the implementation of Duck Creek Technologies’ insurance platform for Capricorn Mutual, an Australian member-owned risk protection organisation serving the automotive industry.
The deployment replaces Capricorn Mutual’s legacy systems with a cloud-based insurance technology platform designed to improve policy administration, claims processing, billing and operational management.
Aggne delivered the project in partnership with Capricorn Mutual and Duck Creek Technologies, supporting the mutual’s broader technology modernisation programme and plans for future growth.
The implementation includes Duck Creek Policy, Rating, Billing, Claims and Clarity, deployed through Duck Creek OnDemand. These applications bring several insurance operations onto a connected platform, reducing dependence on separate legacy systems and supporting more consistent processing across business functions.
Aggne managed the implementation and connected business applications using Duck Creek’s open API architecture. The integrations cover banking, financial management, vehicle and property intelligence services, alongside Capricorn Mutual’s proprietary technologies.
The resulting technology environment is intended to improve data quality, automate administrative processes and strengthen oversight of insurance operations. It also gives Capricorn Mutual a more consistent system for managing information across departments as its operational requirements change.
Capricorn Mutual modernises insurance operations
Capricorn Mutual said the investment supports its long-term commitment to providing risk protection services to its members. The organisation expects the new platform to improve internal processes and provide employees with better access to information used in operational decisions.
This investment is about ensuring Capricorn Mutual is well positioned to support our Members now and into the future.
Damon de Nooyer, chief financial services officer at Capricorn
“By modernising our core systems, we’ve strengthened the foundations of the business and created new opportunities to improve how we work, make decisions and serve our Members,” de Nooyer said.
He credited Aggne with helping deliver the implementation and said the new technology would support Capricorn Mutual’s continued development and its commitment to providing members with reliable protection and service.
The project involved moving several business functions from existing systems to Duck Creek’s cloud environment while connecting external financial and information services. Such migrations require coordination between insurance operations, technology teams and software providers to maintain consistency across policy, billing and claims processes.
Aggne contributed its experience in property and casualty insurance technology, system implementation and application connectivity. Duck Creek supplied the insurance software and cloud environment supporting the new operational setup.
Asha Kalidindi, CEO of Aggne, said cooperation between the three organisations was an important part of completing the deployment.
“Successful core system transformations require a combination of industry expertise, proven implementation capabilities, and close collaboration,” Kalidindi said.
She added that the implementation gives Capricorn Mutual greater operational flexibility and opportunities to improve member services as the organisation develops its technology capabilities.
Cloud technology supports future insurance system development
The Duck Creek deployment gives Capricorn Mutual a connected environment for policy administration, pricing, billing, claims and reporting. By replacing separate legacy applications, the organisation aims to simplify information sharing between business functions and reduce manual work associated with maintaining disconnected systems.
The use of Duck Creek OnDemand also supports Capricorn Mutual’s plans to introduce further technology improvements.
According to Aggne, modernising insurance systems provides a basis for future data-driven applications and AI-supported processes, although the announcement did not identify specific AI products scheduled for deployment.
Aggne expects to continue working with Capricorn Mutual during subsequent stages of its technology modernisation programme.
The implementation also forms part of Aggne’s work with insurers and mutual organisations seeking to replace older administration systems. The company provides consulting, implementation and managed services for property and casualty insurers, including AI-related technology services.
