The additional investment strengthens the relationship between Berkshire Hathaway and Bending Spoons, which has built its business around acquiring established digital platforms, improving their operations and reinvesting earnings in further acquisitions.

Bending Spoons plans further technology acquisitions
Bending Spoons intends to use its financial resources to support continued acquisition activity.
Francesco Patarnello, the company’s head of business acquisitions and co-founder, said its pipeline of potential transactions remains strong. “Bending Spoons continuously evaluates M&A opportunities, and our pipeline remains strong,” Patarnello said.
We believe Berkshire Hathaway’s investment reflects confidence in our team and Platform and will further enhance our financial flexibility and ability to pursue attractive acquisitions as part of our broader financing strategy.

Bending Spoons has pursued an acquisition-led business model for more than a decade. Its strategy involves buying digital companies, reorganizing operations, improving products and increasing earnings before reinvesting in additional businesses.
The company has never sold a material business, according to its announcement. Its main holdings include Airtable, AOL, Brightcove, Eventbrite, Evernote, Tractive, Vimeo and WeTransfer.
Rather than relying primarily on individual product launches, Bending Spoons focuses on acquiring established businesses and changing how they operate. Its restructuring programs can involve reorganizing teams, replacing or upgrading technology, redesigning interfaces, accelerating product development and adjusting marketing and monetization strategies.
Artificial intelligence is used both in product development and in implementing operational changes. The company describes its internal operating system as its Platform, comprising employees, proprietary technologies and proprietary data.
Its investment approach emphasizes specialized talent, technical capabilities and consistent operating practices across acquired businesses.
