Engine by Gen, the embedded finance marketplace platform, has launched a version of Savvy, its insurance marketplace, designed specifically for AI agents shopping for coverage on behalf of consumers.
The company said the site gives agents direct access to insurance research and quoting while reducing the amount of personal information shared across multiple insurer websites.
AI agents such as Muse and Instinct are increasingly handling multi-step shopping tasks, including insurance research. Some marketplaces have restricted automated agent access, while Engine by Gen has taken the opposite approach by opening Savvy to AI traffic and restructuring the experience around agent-led shopping.
Savvy’s updated site moves most of the required questions onto a single page, reducing repeated exchanges between an AI agent and the customer. A user could ask an agent to check whether they could save money on car insurance, then allow the software to work through the available options.
AI agents are quickly becoming a popular way to get advice, but asking an agent to find car insurance is fundamentally different from asking it to find a new pair of sneakers.
Chris Schellens, head of Engine by Gen
Chris Schellens said conventional agent-led insurance searches risk distributing consumer information across numerous websites, which could lead to unwanted calls, messages and greater exposure of personal data.
Before requesting sensitive personal information, Savvy generates rate estimates using recently sold policies purchased by customers with similar characteristics. Contact information is requested only when those estimates appear relevant, and Savvy said the information remains within its own system rather than being distributed across multiple insurer websites.
The approach is intended to reduce spam for consumers and avoid unnecessary data pulls for insurers.
Savvy also provides personalized quotes after the initial estimate stage, while limiting how widely customer information is shared during the shopping process.
Engine by Gen described the launch as the first part of a broader strategy for insurance shopping across AI agents and assistants. The company is exploring infrastructure connecting consumers, their AI agents and insurance providers across a wider group of agent platforms.
The move also extends Gen’s work around AI privacy and security. Earlier in 2026, the company launched its Agent Trust Hub, followed by VPN for Agents and AI Data Checker, products focused on securing agent connections and giving users more information about how AI services handle their data.
With Savvy, Engine by Gen is applying the same approach to financial services. The marketplace is being structured to accept AI agents rather than block them, while keeping consumer data within a more controlled insurance shopping process and giving carriers another route to reach shoppers using AI assistants.
