US-based cross-border payments FinTech Félix has raised $200 mn through equity and debt financing. The company plans to use the capital to expand beyond remittances and increase its presence across Latin America.
The financing includes an $87 mn equity round led by Andreessen Horowitz. QED Investors and Castle Island Ventures also participated, alongside Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners and Endeavor Catalyst.
Félix separately secured a $113 mn credit facility from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. The latest financing follows a $75 mn Series B completed in 2025 and a $15.5 mn Series A raised in 2024.
Manuel Godoy and Bernardo Garcia founded Félix in 2020. The company initially developed a WhatsApp-based remittance service for Latino communities in the US sending money to relatives across Latin America.
Félix said its customer base has grown to more than 6 mn users. Since launch, the platform has processed more than $8 bn in transactions.
Users initiate transfers directly through WhatsApp using debit cards or credit cards. They also have the option to fund transactions with cash deposits at participating retail locations.
Recipients receive funds directly into their bank accounts. The process is designed to keep the sender within the messaging interface throughout the transaction.
Félix plans to use part of the new funding to expand its financial product range. Lending and savings products are among the areas identified for development.
The company has also introduced a mobile top-up service. Customers in the US use it to purchase mobile credit and data remotely for relatives in Latin America.
Artificial intelligence forms another part of Félix’s expansion plans. The company is developing its Cognitive Financial Companion as a conversational service for understanding customer requests and suggesting relevant financial products.
The system uses natural-language interactions rather than requiring customers to navigate traditional financial product menus. Félix plans to extend this model as it adds more services beyond cross-border payments.
The funding will also support recruitment and geographic expansion. Félix currently operates across 11 Latin American markets, including Mexico and Colombia.
Brazil and Venezuela are among the markets targeted for further expansion. The company is seeking to extend the same WhatsApp-based financial service model into a wider portion of the region.
The $200 mn financing gives Félix additional capital for both product development and lending-related activities. Its next phase will move the business further from a remittance-focused platform toward a broader set of digital financial services.
