Festina Finance raises €25 mn to expand life insurance and pension technology across Europe

Copenhagen-based FinTech Festina Finance secured more than €25 mn in growth funding from UK-based investor Birchway Capital. The startup investment values the at about €200 mn and will support product development and international expansion, according to Beinsure.

Birchway Capital focuses on growth-stage B2B technology, FinTech and AI companies. The latest transaction comes as pension providers and life insurers continue replacing legacy systems with cloud-based platforms built for modern financial services.

Founded in 2007, Festina Finance develops cloud-native technology for pensions, life insurance and financial planning. Its platforms serve pension funds, insurers, banks, wealth managers and financial advisers looking to modernise policy administration and improve operational efficiency.

The company’s flagship Life & Pension platform delivers modular policy administration for pension and life insurance providers. Its Advisor platform provides an API-first advisory workspace designed for investment professionals.

Founder Morten Schantz said pension and life insurance providers face growing pressure to replace ageing infrastructure with flexible technology. He said Festina Finance built modular cloud-native systems that help customers modernise operations, improve efficiency and maintain control over critical processes. The new funding will accelerate platform development and support expansion across Europe.

“This investment enables us to accelerate that work and scale our platform across Europe as demand for modern pensions infrastructure continues to grow,” Morten Schantz said.

According to Beinsure, the UK represents one of the company’s main strategic growth markets. The investment will finance further development of the Life & Pension platform, recruitment and international expansion.

Kilian Pender, Founding Partner at Birchway Capital, said many pension providers and life insurers still depend on legacy technology. He said customer discussions confirmed the strength of Festina Finance’s platform and its role in modernising mission-critical operations. Pender added the company is well positioned as financial institutions move toward integrated cloud-based systems.

Following the investment, Netcompany will retain a 22% stake in Festina Finance. The companies will continue their partnership by integrating Festina Finance’s pension capabilities into AMPLIO Life & Pension while expanding cooperation through Netcompany Banking Services and Festina Advisor.

Festina Finance supports organisations managing about 10 mn pension policies and 3 mn banking customers across Europe. The company employs more than 200 people and operates in Denmark, the Netherlands, the UK and Norway.
