Dani Tobler – Head of Cyber Reinsurance at Swiss Re
Dani Tobler currently leads Swiss Re’s Cyber Reinsurance division, managing underwriting for the global cyber insurance portfolio. His role includes analytics, accumulation control, and client management. Dani assumed this position in April 2023. Before this, he served as Head of the Specialty Centre from July 2020 to September 2023, overseeing underwriting and operations for various reinsurance business lines, including Agriculture, Aviation, Credit & Surety, Cyber, Marine, and Engineering.
From July 2018 to June 2020, Dani held the title of Chief Engineering Underwriter, managing Swiss Re’s global treaty and facultative engineering business. Before joining Swiss Re, he worked as a consultant at IC Infraconsult AG in Bern, focusing on infrastructure projects, traffic, construction, economics, and sustainability.
Education
- Dani Tobler holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich (1996-2002).
- He also conducted project work at University College London (UCL) in 2001, where he collaborated on flood defense strategies for urban London with the Thames Agency, specializing in geomatic engineering.
