Rafael Schneider – Market Head, Germany Market Units P&C Reinsurance at Swiss Re

Rafael was appointed Market Head Germany in 2022. In this capacity, he is responsible for Swiss Re’s P&C business in the German market.

Rafael started his career at Swiss Re in 2014 as a Business Development Analyst. One year later, he took over the role as Deputy Regional Manager for Southern Africa, where he developed a strong focus on client relationships and a passion for capital management and innovative reinsurance solutions. From 2019 to 2022, Rafael led the Global MGA & Client Review Team responsible for selecting best in class partners and overseeing Swiss Re’s strategic MGA portfolio.

Rafael holds a Master’s degree in Physics and Economics. He is a qualified actuary and a member of the German Actuarial Society. In his leisure time, Rafael enjoys mountain biking in the Alps.
