Allianz Commercial appointed Sandra Lee as head of claims for Canada, replacing Bernard McNulty.
In she current role, Sandra Lee leads Allianz’s Canadian business through global repositioning initiatives aimed at simplifying structures, enhancing technical capabilities, and expanding core offerings.
She reports to Frank Sapio, Regional Head of Claims, and is part of the North America Executive Management Team, with a matrix reporting line to Bill Scaldaferri, President and CEO of Allianz North America.
McNulty will continue as Allianz Commercial Canada’s chief agent. Lee assumes the role immediately and will report to McNulty.
Lee has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She joined Allianz Commercial in August 2024 as director of long-tail claims, overseeing corporate liability, excess, and financial lines claims in Canada.
Before Allianz, Lee held leadership roles at Axa XL, most recently serving as head of claims from 2022 to 2024, managing Canadian claims operations. She previously spent 11 years at Economical Insurance, leading casualty claims.
Sandra Lee has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career in 2004 as a physical damage adjuster. She then transitioned to casualty claims, taking on roles with increasing responsibility.
In 2019, Lee joined Axa XL, attracted by its global presence and reputation for handling complex risks. She served as head of claims in Canada from 2022 to 2024, overseeing the company’s Canadian claims operations.
In August 2024, Lee joined Allianz Commercial as director of long-tail claims. She managed corporate liability, excess, and financial lines claims in Canada. In February 2025, she was appointed head of claims for Canada, succeeding Bernard McNulty, who remains the company’s chief agent.
In January, Allianz Commercial appointed Nancy Dorvil as regional head of property for North America, replacing Jenise Klein, and Eric Wedin as regional head of financial lines for North America, replacing Jarrod Schlesinger.
Bernard McNulty has over 26 years of experience in the insurance industry, encompassing underwriting, claims, and management roles. Before joining Allianz in July 2016, McNulty was Vice President of Strategic Broker and Customer Development at RSA Group. He also held various claims leadership positions at GCAN Insurance Co. and the ACE Group.
