Bamboo Ide8 Insurance Services has launched its Texas Essential Homeowner Program, an admitted homeowners insurance product built for greater coverage flexibility. The program allows Texas homeowners to structure policies around individual property needs and household budgets.
The launch comes as homeowners across Texas face higher renewal costs from traditional insurers. Texas Essential offers another admitted-market option with clearly defined coverage choices and limits.
Policyholders select among different roof coverage, water coverage and loss settlement options. Those choices allow homeowners to structure protection around a property’s age and condition rather than purchasing the same coverage configuration for every home.
Optional add-ons provide further ways to adjust the policy. Bamboo also offers premium credits for qualifying home improvements, alongside discounts for claim-free homeowners and recent home buyers.
Texas homeowners have different needs depending on their property, location, and circumstances, and we believe every customer should be able to make their own choice about the coverage they need
John Chu, Founder and CEO of Bamboo Insurance
He said the company wants to expand access to flexible insurance products while giving agents more options in a difficult homeowners market.
Chu added that the Texas program extends Bamboo’s work in states where homeowners have faced fewer insurance choices and rising premiums. The company also expects the structure to give agents more flexibility when matching coverage with individual customer priorities.
Texas Essential follows Bamboo’s recent expansion in California. In July, the company introduced its Essential homeowners program there and announced a partnership with MS Transverse.
The MS Transverse agreement added approximately $150 mn of admitted capacity in California. Bamboo said both launches support its strategy of expanding homeowners products while maintaining underwriting discipline in markets facing insurance availability and affordability pressure.
Bamboo operates as a technology-enabled managing general underwriter focused on homeowners insurance. Its model combines data-based underwriting with a capital-light MGU structure and insurance capacity supplied through external carrier and reinsurance partners.
The company manages underwriting and other insurance functions while working with a network of rated capacity providers. Its distribution model spans multiple channels and relies heavily on partnerships with agents and other insurance distributors.
Bamboo uses its underwriting technology to shorten quote-to-bind times and price individual risks more precisely. The company is expanding its capacity network as it enters additional markets and adds products within states where it already operates.
The Texas Essential launch extends that strategy into one of the country’s largest homeowners insurance markets. Its flexible structure gives policyholders more control over selected coverage terms while keeping the product inside the admitted insurance market.
