Cambridge Mobile Telematics, the telematics and AI company for safer mobility, has launched its DriveWell Fleet platform on the Geotab Marketplace, according to Beinsure. The move gives fleets using Geotab devices direct access to CMT’s insurance telematics tools.
CMT describes itself as the world’s largest telematics and AI company focused on safer mobility. Its DriveWell Fleet product targets commercial auto insurers and fleet operators seeking behavior-based insurance pricing.
The Geotab Marketplace listing lets fleets activate DriveWell Fleet through their existing Geotab devices. They do not need to change daily operations or replace current telematics hardware.
For fleets, the offer links safe driving data with insurance programmes that reward lower-risk behaviour. That structure helps lower insurance costs, improve safety results and raise the value of existing telematics investments.
Insurers gain access to driving data from vehicles already connected through Geotab. The data supports better fleet-risk assessment and more accurate pricing based on driver behaviour rather than broad underwriting assumptions.
DriveWell Fleet converts telematics service provider data into normalized, high-frequency insights. Insurers use those insights for risk selection, segmentation and pricing across commercial auto portfolios.
The commercial auto insurance market still uses telematics unevenly. Fewer than 5% of policies rely on telematics data for pricing, even though more than 30% of vehicles already connect to a telematics service provider.
CMT’s Marketplace launch addresses that gap. Fleets with Geotab devices use the CMT platform through existing connections, while unconnected vehicles get access through CMT’s proprietary hardware.
That approach gives insurers a wider path toward behaviour-based pricing across more of their commercial book. It also moves commercial auto coverage closer to full telematics use, according to Beinsure.
Ben Bowne, CMT’s SVP of Business Development and Partnerships, said the company has spent more than a decade helping insurers use telematics to understand risk, reduce crashes and save lives.
Bowne said DriveWell Fleet applies the same model to commercial auto insurance worldwide. He added that the Geotab Marketplace makes it simpler for fleets to connect with CMT’s platform and for insurers to access high-quality driving data at scale.
