Google Cloud has introduced Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, an agentic AI product built for financial professionals. The package combines a Google-managed Financial Research agent, more than 50 finance-specific skills, enterprise data connectors and third-party agents with the Gemini Enterprise platform.
The product is initially available in preview for capital markets and corporate banking. CME Group and Deutsche Bank are already working with the technology, with Deutsche Bank participating as a design partner for the Financial Research agent.
Other financial institutions using Gemini Enterprise include BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group, Macquarie Bank and Signal Iduna. Their deployments cover employee workflows and broader use of agentic AI inside financial organizations.
Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services and a separate legal-industry product are the first packaged industry editions built on Gemini Enterprise. Google Cloud plans further industry-specific versions.
Each package combines AI agents, specialized skills, data connections and model configurations designed for particular professional workflows. The financial-services edition is built around research, regulated data access and governance requirements common across banks and capital-markets firms.
Financial institutions often need AI outputs tied directly to current market data, regulatory filings and internal systems. General-purpose tools aren’t always designed around those requirements, especially where data lineage, auditability and access controls are involved.
Google Cloud is positioning its new product around those operational constraints. Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services connects models with company data, external information sources, internal systems and governance controls.
The platform includes a Financial Research agent, more than 50 purpose-built skills and 13 connectors. Those connectors link with market data, news feeds, regulatory filings and internal databases.
Research outputs are designed to retain source information and data provenance. Users receive citations, confidence scores, stated methodologies and data snapshots intended to support review and auditing.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said financial institutions are looking for AI platforms without dependence on a single model or ecosystem. He also pointed to security, compliance and connections with existing IT systems as requirements for financial-sector adoption.
The Financial Research agent automates multi-stage research tasks. Users access it through the Gemini Enterprise application or connect it with existing agent workflows through Agent-to-Agent APIs.
Model Context Protocol integrations link the agent with enterprise data sources. It then produces reports and documents based on the information available within the customer’s configured environment.
The product also includes more than 50 financial skills. These provide predefined instructions for recurring tasks such as applying brand requirements, formatting reports and retrieving selected datasets.
The skills are intended for teams including private equity, wealth management and compliance. Supported workflows include credit-risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, market-news analysis and investigative financial research.
Customers will be able to use these skills inside the Financial Research agent. They will also be available for agents developed by financial institutions themselves.
Data connectors provide access to licensed and public financial information sources. Named providers include CoinDesk Data & Indices, Daloopa, Dun & Bradstreet, FactSet, Finnhub, Fiscal.ai, Guidepoint, LSEG, Moody’s, MSCI, PitchBook, S&P Global and SEC Edgar.
The integrations are configured inside each customer’s environment. This gives institutions control over which external and internal sources their agents use.
Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services also connects with third-party agents offered through Google Cloud’s partner network.
The D&B Business Verification Agent supports commercial onboarding and Know Your Customer processes. FlowX Agents cover loan-pack completeness, document extraction and reconciliation for capital-markets work.
The Obin Financial Agent is intended for private-markets and commercial-lending analysis. S&P Global’s Data Retrieval Agent supports multi-step analysis, report generation and research workflows.
Google Cloud also lists S&P Global Energy Horizons Agents. These tools work with energy and sustainability information used in financial research.
IT and risk teams receive centralized controls through the Gemini Enterprise platform. Risk management, audit logging and governance functions are built into the platform architecture.
Google Cloud is targeting several capital-markets and banking workflows with the Financial Research agent.
Relationship managers and advisers are one group. The agent produces customer information, personalized recommendations and documents intended to support client conversations.
KYC research is another planned use. The system processes formats including PDFs, Excel files and SEC filings, then maps corporate structures and assists with analysis of beneficial ownership.
Trading teams can also use the agent for bond-portfolio analysis during macroeconomic market moves. Google Cloud says the workflow reduces certain portfolio-risk analyses to under five minutes and produces duration-hedging suggestions.
Credit teams receive tools for analyzing market data and identifying possible pricing discrepancies. The intended use includes trade research alongside reductions in back-office workload and underwriting delays.
Fixed-income and underwriting teams are another target group. According to Google Cloud, the platform reduces some bond-issuance pitch preparation workflows from days to minutes.
Deutsche Bank plans to deploy Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services across its Corporate Bank division. The bank worked with Google Cloud while the Financial Research agent was being developed.
Its contribution focused on practical banking requirements including data protection, governance, security and data residency.
Deutsche Bank plans to use the Financial Research agent to identify customer needs, find relevant products across business units, support acquisition processes and follow market developments.
The bank is also examining additional applications. These include financial-crime risk management, forecasting, scenario analysis and pitch preparation within its Private Bank and Investment Bank divisions.
Marie-Jeanne Deverdun, Deutsche Bank’s Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer and a member of its Management Board, said the bank expects AI to reduce manual research work and improve consistency and auditability.
The objective is also to move employee time away from repetitive research and toward client work. For Deutsche Bank, governance and data protection remain part of the deployment rather than separate technical layers.
Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services also works inside Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Analysts can generate, analyze and export AI-produced material through Docs, Sheets, Slides, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Google Cloud is pairing the product with a partner network for implementation and custom configuration. Participants include 66degrees, Accenture, Artefact, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Genpact, GFT Technologies, Infosys, KPMG, PwC, Quantiphi, Slalom, Tribe AI and Zencore.
Those firms will support deployments and specialized configurations for financial institutions operating across different markets and technology environments.
