Guy Carpenter launched the Capital and Advisory group

Guy Carpenter, a global risk and reinsurance specialist under Marsh McLennan, launched the Capital and Advisory group within its Global Capital Solutions unit.

Alexander Schnieders will lead the new group as Global Head, reporting to Laurent Rousseau, CEO of Europe, EMEA, and Global Capital Solutions.

The group aims to enhance Guy Carpenter’s services for C-Suite clients and attract more capital to (re)insurance risks.

The team will focus on raising funds, advising on investments and M&A transactions, creating new market capacity, and supporting the formation of new companies.

Schnieders previously worked at Teneo Holdings as Head of the Financial Institutions Group and Co-Head of M&A, overseeing all US insurance activities.

He has also held similar roles at Goldman Sachs and Perella Weinberg Partners.

Laurent Rousseau stated, “The addition of a Capital & Advisory team strengthens our Global Capital Solutions unit, which already includes cat bonds and other insurance-linked securities through GC Securities and legacy products through Global Risk Solutions. With Alexander’s experience and connections, the team is well-positioned to serve our clients.”

Schnieders remarked, “I am excited to join Guy Carpenter in this new role. I have great respect for the Guy Carpenter team and am confident we will offer clients unique solutions to achieve their risk, capital, and strategic goals.”
