Insurtech bolt launches AI insurance distribution platform across all lines

InsurTech bolt has launched an AI-powered insurance distribution platform designed to connect customer engagement, workflow execution and carrier access across multiple insurance lines. The company describes the product as a new operating model for agencies, brokerages, carriers and other distribution partners.

The platform, called Connected Distribution, brings customer data and distribution workflows into one system. It also connects users with carrier markets across personal, commercial and specialty insurance.

bolt developed the platform around persistent distribution problems inside insurance agencies. Many firms still work across separate systems, repeat the same data entry and rely heavily on manual handoffs between quoting, placement and policy servicing.

Those processes consume staff time and create opportunities for lost revenue. Customers also experience slower service than they receive from banks, retailers or other digital businesses.

Connected Distribution links the insurance lifecycle from prospecting and quoting through placement, servicing and renewal. AI sits inside those workflows rather than operating as a separate application.

Most AI tools in insurance solve one isolated problem. bolt built AI directly into the platform so the technology handles work across multiple stages of distribution.

The system uses conversational AI across voice, SMS, chat and email. It converts customer interactions into structured information and combines those records with account history, customer data and risk information.

That data remains available throughout the customer relationship. Distribution teams therefore work from the same record when moving an account from the first inquiry into quoting, servicing and renewal.

Workflow AI handles operational tasks after customer information enters the system. Those functions include quoting and routing submissions, along with servicing and binding activity.

The platform also updates CRM records and handles other distribution workflows without requiring employees to transfer information manually between separate applications. Human agents remain available when a customer needs advice or more complicated support.

Carrier access forms another part of the product. bolt connects distribution partners with insurance markets nationwide through API connections and carrier processes that don’t rely on APIs.

Its AI handles carrier interactions and runs quoting activity in parallel. The system then returns available options intended for binding with less manual work from agency staff.

bolt built the platform on infrastructure already processing more than $85 bn in quoted premium annually. Its network includes more than 5,000 product connections across standard and specialty insurance lines.

The platform also works with existing agency and brokerage technology stacks. Distribution partners therefore don’t need to replace every current system before adding bolt’s distribution functions.

bolt said customers using its technology have recorded a twofold increase in conversion rates among high-intent leads. Bound policies increased 34% among users measured by the company.

Customers using the platform shop for insurance digitally, receive quotes and compare available coverage before completing a purchase. Agent support remains part of the process for cases requiring individual guidance.

TRB Insurance is among the brokerages using bolt’s technology. The company operates as a subsidiary of Texas Regional Bank and sells personal insurance, commercial coverage and employee benefits.

For bolt, the launch expands its existing distribution technology into a broader AI-based operating platform. The company is targeting insurers and intermediaries seeking fewer manual handoffs, wider carrier access and faster movement between customer inquiry and policy binding.
