Insurtech Boxx announced 3 key appointments to drive growth in the U.S.

Toronto-based cyber insurtech Boxx Insurance has announced three key appointments to drive its growth in the United States.

Erik Tifft has been named head of products. He will focus on advancing Boxx’s all-in-one cyber insurance solutions and launching new financial lines products.

With nearly 20 years of experience in underwriting, insurance products, and cyber, Tifft brings deep expertise to strengthen the company’s offerings for businesses and consumers across North America.

Jim Miller and Gil Cujcuj have been appointed as distribution leaders for the east and west regions, respectively. They will concentrate on expanding partnerships and increasing Boxx’s presence in the U.S. market.

Miller has extensive experience in customer and distribution management, with a background spanning both broker and carrier roles at Beazley and Apogee.

Cujcuj, with over a decade of experience in the insurance and cyber sectors, was previously cyber lead at HDI. His career also includes underwriting and program expertise at NAS Insurance Services, Tokio Marine, and Beazley.

BOXX Insurance has secured a total of $24.5 mn over two rounds. The Series A round, completed on September 22, 2021, raised $10 mn with participation from investors including Cyber Mentor Fund and Zurich Insurance Group.

Subsequently, on January 31, 2023, the company completed a Series B funding round, raising $14.4 mn, led by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. This investment aims to support BOXX’s mission to expand its presence across North America and other selected markets.
