KatRisk, a provider of catastrophe risk modeling software for the insurance and financial sectors, has acquired Gamma, a company based in Dublin specializing in location intelligence and property-level risk data.
This acquisition expands KatRisk’s technical capabilities in risk assessment and supports its broader development of data-driven tools for insurance and financial services.
Gamma is known for its property risk assessment platform, Perilfinder, which is used by major general insurers for underwriting, exposure management, and address-level risk evaluation.
The company also offers tools like AddressLink and develops cloud-based platforms through its Gamma Labs division, including BERWOW and EPCWOW, which focus on retrofit analysis and sustainability. Gamma holds ISO 27001 certification and operates in Ireland, the UK, and other markets.
Through this acquisition, KatRisk will integrate Gamma’s spatial and visual risk tools. Clients will gain access to detailed map-based analytics and dashboards that show exposure from perils such as floods, wildfires, and wind events.
This added functionality supports improved decision-making in risk selection and portfolio oversight.
According to Brandon Katz, EVP of Strategy at KatRisk, combining Gamma’s tools with KatRisk’s catastrophe models across multiple weather-related hazards will allow for improved loss ratio performance, better underwriting precision, and more efficient operations.

“By combining our catastrophic risk models across floods, storms, and fire with Gamma’s location intelligence capabilities, we will deliver an even more powerful suite of tools that improves risk selection, reduces loss ratios, and enhances underwriting efficiency,” said Brandon Katz.
Feargal O’Neill, CEO of Gamma, stated that joining KatRisk will enable broader global distribution for Perilfinder™ and align Gamma with a leading catastrophe modeling provider.
The combination of Gamma and KatRisk represents an exciting opportunity for our customers and partners. Joining KatRisk gives us access to the world’s leading catastrophe modelers, while opening global markets for Perilfinder.

“Together, our combined strengths in catastrophe modeling and location intelligence will empower insurers and underwriters to make smarter, faster risk decisions with greater confidence,” said Feargal O’Neill.
The acquisition supports KatRisk’s international expansion and enhances its capabilities in delivering property and catastrophe risk analytics. The company maintains strong operations across North America and Europe.
