Lloyd’s corporate affairs Director Rebekah Clement to step down

Key points from Lloyd’s 2025 Market Policies and Practices return

Lloyd’s announced that Rebekah Clement will leave her role as corporate affairs director to take on a new opportunity outside the organization.

Clement, who was Lloyd’s first director of corporate affairs and sustainability, played a key role in shaping the company’s global reputation.

She helped position Lloyd’s as a leader in reinsurance and a strategic partner in addressing global risks.

With over 20 years of experience in corporate affairs, Clement has worked across government, brand management, media, and communications.

Her past roles include senior positions in both public and private sectors, such as with New Zealand’s Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

At Lloyd’s, she led the development of its sustainability strategy and related initiatives.

Her departure follows the recent appointment of Patrick Tiernan as the incoming CEO of Lloyd’s. He will take over from John Neal starting June 1, pending regulatory approval.

Tiernan joined Lloyd’s in May 2021 as its first chief of markets.

In this role, he oversaw underwriting, claims, exposure management, market oversight, international regulation, distribution, new entrant strategy, the Lloyd’s Global Network, Lloyd’s Lab, Lloyd’s Academy, and Lloyd’s global agents.

As the Chief of Markets at Lloyd’s, I’m part of the executive leadership of the world’s leading marketplace for insurance and reinsurance.

Patrick Tiernan, Chief Executive Officer

“I lead the Lloyd’s commercial strategy, with responsibility for principle-based oversight of the entire Lloyd’s market. I also oversee Lloyd’s global market development and crisis management, and lead on innovation and education at Lloyd’s through the Lloyd’s Lab and the Lloyd’s Academy,” Patrick Tiernan said.
