Atrium and Sofix have rolled out BrokerBrief at Atrium, the Lloyd’s specialty insurer, bringing AI-driven claim analysis and summaries directly into claims workflows across all lines of business.
Built by Sofix and integrated with Atrium’s claims management system, BrokerBrief turns early claim information and supporting documents into a concise summary attached automatically to the claim record.
Claims handlers and adjusters get a clearer view of the file without digging through emails, attachments and scattered notes.
The product updates the standard initial brief brokers provide to adjusters and automates much of that work. It adds context and structure at the start of the claim.
The output brings together core claim details, validation checks and coverage parameters in one summary, helping teams reach a working position faster.
BrokerBrief keeps updating as the claim develops. Each time a new document is added to the file, the summary is regenerated, so the claim record stays aligned with the latest available information.
By creating a structured summary and continuously capturing claim data as the file changes, BrokerBrief also lays groundwork for predictive analytics and decision support. That gives claims teams a faster route into early triage and more consistent, data-led outcomes.
The deployment also builds on Sofix’s direct integration with IMR, the Insurers’ Market Repository.
Insurers and managing agents can extract and analyse large claims files and turn unstructured material into usable insight. That includes adjuster reports, broker correspondence, expert reports and other documentation.
Sofix said the platform automates document analysis and classification at scale, helping claims teams review large and complex files faster, identify patterns and improve operational efficiency while staying aligned with Lloyd’s market processes.
Carla Viana, chief data scientist at Sofix, said BrokerBrief converts unstructured claims information into a structured, continuously updated view of the claim. She said that gives handlers and adjusters a stronger starting point without forcing them to piece together the file manually from multiple sources.

“Instead of piecing together the position from multiple sources, teams get a clearer starting point straight from the file,” said Carla Viana.
Andrew Johnson, head of claims operations at Atrium, said claims remain the point where insurance either delivers or falls short. He said the company has focused on making the claims experience faster and smoother, and that the new tool pushes that further by creating practical efficiencies for brokers and clients.
The rollout marks another step in Atrium’s use of technology to improve claims handling and in Sofix’s wider push to bring AI-based automation into complex claims workflows across the London market.
