Belgian startup Tekst raises €11.5 mn Series A for enterprise AI workflows

Belgian AI Startup Tekst Raises €11.5M Funding In Series A

Tekst, a Ghent-based AI startup founded in 2022, raised €11.5mn in Series A funding led by US venture firm Elephant.

The company, founded by CEO Wouter Janssen and CTO Tiebe Parmentier, wants enterprises to extract useful context from business data before they put AI agents to work.

Tekst focuses on a costly problem in enterprise AI. Companies spend heavily on AI systems, yet many tools still miss the operational context needed for real decision-making.

According to Beinsure analysts, this gap limits returns because AI agents often handle isolated tasks without understanding how work moves through a company.

The platform studies full business processes, not single steps. It targets workflows such as quotes, orders, claims, and customer service, where staff still depend on emails, PDFs, manual checks, and undocumented routines. Tekst turns those trails into structured process data.

Instead of sending consultants to interview employees and map operations by hand, Tekst reconstructs workflows by analysing the digital trail workers already leave behind.

Its system identifies how messages trigger actions across departments, systems, and approval paths. It’s a more technical route into the same old back-office headache.

The company says its platform helps businesses make complex operations more structured, contextual, and automated at scale.

It connects with existing enterprise software, including SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft tools, to reduce repetitive work and improve operational flow. Customers include Daikin Europe N.V., Colruyt Group, Securex, and Becton Dickinson.

Tekst builds Agentic Process Automation for global enterprises. Its Process Intelligence layer links enterprise systems with AI agents, giving companies a clearer way to automate data entry, approvals, email-based workflows, and related back-office processes.

The new funding will support product development and international expansion. Tekst employs 35 people and plans to double headcount by the end of the year, with hiring focused on engineering and go-to-market roles.

Wouter Janssen, CEO and co-founder of Tekst, said the processes running a business aren’t written down anywhere. They live in emails, PDFs, and employees’ heads.

The companies that crack this open get to use AI on a completely different level and finally see real returns on what they’ve put in.

He said Tekst’s process intelligence technology surfaces those workflows, since without that context an AI agent becomes an expensive assistant or a glorified chatbot.

In his view, companies that solve this problem use AI at a different level and start to see real returns on what they’ve spent.
