Chubb has named Ana Robic as the new regional president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), stepping into the role previously held by David Furby.
Furby will take on a new position as executive chairman of EMEA, while Melissa Scheffler will replace Robic as president of the business and become a vice president at Chubb Group. These leadership changes will take effect on April 1.
Robic, currently senior vice president of Chubb Group and division president of personal risk services (PRS) for Chubb North America, will now oversee Chubb’s business across the UK, continental Europe, Chubb Global Markets, the Middle East, and Africa.
She will report to Paul McNamee, executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of Chubb Overseas General Insurance.
Robic joined Chubb in 1999 and has produced outstanding results in every role she has held. She was named Division President, Chubb Personal Risk Services in 2021 after serving as Chief Operating Officer of the business. Prior to PRS, Robic held leadership roles for Chubb in Canada, including Commercial Insurance, the Underwriting Center and the Excess and Umbrella division.
Furby will focus on strategy and governance for Chubb’s general insurance business in EMEA. He will remain on Chubb’s European Group board and continue as chair of its underwriting risk committee.
Furby’s tenure in the insurance industry spans 43 years, 29 with the company.
Before leading EMEA and Chubb’s global markets, he served as division president of property/casualty at Overseas General Insurance, working in both New York and London.
He also held the role of regional president for continental Europe. She joined Ace Group, now Chubb, in 1996.
Scheffler, currently PRS’s chief operating officer, will report to Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of Chubb North America.
Scheffler’s career at Chubb began in 1994 and canvases roles in underwriting, marketing, sales, and management throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and New York regions.
Prior to her current position as Chief Operating Officer for PRS, she served as the Regional Executive Officer for the Mid-Atlantic Region. She has also held key roles as Regional COO, Pittsburgh Branch Manager and New Jersey Marketing Manager.
