EigenRisk, an independent insurance technology firm, has appointed Daniel Grimwood-Bird as vice president of Sales for EMEA. He will be based in London.
Grimwood-Bird brings more than 20 years of experience across insurance and risk. Much of his career has focused on business development for technology-based products serving insurance clients.
At EigenRisk, he will lead sales activity across Europe. His remit covers insurance carriers, brokers and risk management organisations, with the London market as the initial focus.
The appointment comes as EigenRisk expands its international client base. The company provides catastrophe risk technology to insurance and risk management teams.
Its cloud-based EigenPrism platform supports property and casualty underwriting, portfolio management and claims operations. Risk management professionals also use the system for catastrophe analysis and monitoring.
EigenPrism provides access to data management tools, geo-visualisation and analytics. It also includes reporting, modelling, alerts and APIs within the same environment.
The platform connects clients with datasets supplied by more than 40 partners. These sources cover catastrophe modelling, data augmentation and real-time event monitoring. Imagery services form another part of the available data offering.
EigenRisk CEO Deepak Badoni said catastrophe events are increasing in frequency and severity worldwide. Insurance and risk professionals are therefore placing greater demands on technology used to manage catastrophe exposures.
Badoni said Grimwood-Bird’s background spans both insurance and technology-based solutions. His experience working with client requirements will support EigenRisk’s continued expansion across EMEA.
Grimwood-Bird joins EigenRisk from Nauto, where he served as head of Insurance. Before Nauto, he worked as chief revenue officer at Maptycs.
His previous roles also include sales leadership and management positions at McKenzie Intelligence Services and ICEYE. Earlier in his career, he worked for BGL Group, the UK-based insurance intermediary.
