Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm, has acquired New Zealand-based Albany Insurance Services Limited. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Albany Insurance is a retail insurance broker serving commercial and personal lines clients across Auckland and Canterbury. The firm’s team, led by Jeremy Bleakley, will join Gallagher’s New Zealand retail brokerage operations.
Bleakley and his colleagues will operate under the direction of Carl O’Shea, head of Gallagher’s retail brokerage business in New Zealand. The acquisition adds Albany Insurance’s local market relationships and client portfolio to Gallagher’s existing operations in the country.

- In August, Gallagher acquired Apollo Insurance Solutions, a Vancouver, British Columbia-based digital insurance broker and managing general agency. The companies did not disclose the transaction terms. Apollo specializes in tenant insurance across Canada. Its proprietary platform uses AI to streamline insurance placement, giving brokers and partners a faster route from quote to coverage.
- In August, Gallagher said its U.S. wholesale brokerage, binding authority and programs division, Risk Placement Services, acquired Med James, an Overland Park, Kansas-based managing general agency and wholesale insurance broker. The companies did not disclose transaction terms. Med James serves retail agents through MGA and wholesale brokerage services. Pam Donahue and the Med James team will continue working from their current location. They will report to Jacey Norberg, Vice President, North Central Region, at RPS.
