Hiscox launched a digital Professional Liability product for contractors

Hiscox, a specialist global insurer, has launched a digital Professional Liability product for contractors, including versions for both general contractors and artisan subcontractors. Customers can get an online quote within five minutes, a unique feature in the insurance industry.

Professional Liability for General Contractors

This product covers contractors’ design and engineering exposure on job sites or projects, such as errors in executing an architect’s designs.

It also includes job site pollution liability, FHA/OSHA/ADA regulatory proceedings, and bodily injury and property damage claims arising from professional services.

Hiscox provides an attorney for baseless professional liability lawsuits, even if the insured hasn’t made a mistake.

Professional Liability for Artisan Subcontractors

In addition to the coverage for general contractors, this product addresses the unique needs and risk profiles of specialized contractors, including faulty workmanship coverage.

This covers claims of inadequate skill, quality, or craftsmanship, or the use of defective materials, such as a framer redoing work after not following approved construction drawings.
