Lemonade has launched a standalone buildings insurance product in the UK, completing its Homeowners offering and signaling further investment in the region.
This new policy is tailored to UK homeowners who need property-only cover, without contents.
Since its UK market entry in October 2022 and the rollout of full Homeowners insurance in July 2024, Lemonade has named the UK one of its fastest-growing markets.
The buildings-only product was developed in partnership with Aviva, which has continued to support Lemonade’s growth in the UK.
Sarvesh Ramachandran, Head of UK at Lemonade, said the company has quickly become a preferred option for a new generation of insurance buyers.

We’re delighted to complete our Homeowners product offering in the UK market. In record time, Lemonade has become the preferred option for the next generation of insurance buyers in the UK.

Tailored for UK homeowners, Lemonade’s buildings-only insurance is available via the Lemonade app or online at lemonade.com/uk, with prices starting from £12 a month.
In addition to standard protections such as rebuild costs, temporary accommodation, and owner’s liability, customers can customize their policy with the following add-ons.
Customers can tailor coverage:
- Home Emergency: For urgent issues like boiler breakdowns, burst pipes, or electrical failures.
- Accidental Damage: For unintentional structural damage to the home.
- Legal Protection: Covers legal disputes involving property, employment, or medical matters.
Lemonade offers a broader portfolio including renters, car, pet, life, and full homeowners insurance across multiple markets. Its digital-first model replaces traditional brokers with AI-powered tools to provide real-time quotes, claims, and customer support.
The company’s business model includes a social impact element: unused premiums go to nonprofits chosen by policyholders through its annual Giveback program. Lemonade is a Certified B Corp, and operates in the US, UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.
In the UK, Lemonade operates through a branch establishment authorized by the Prudential Regulation Authority.
