Lloyd’s introduced a new Canadian Core Fixed Income Solution

Lloyd’s, a global marketplace in insurance and reinsurance, introduces a new Canadian Core Fixed Income Solution on its Investment Platform.

This fund aims to improve investment results within Lloyd’s Canadian fixed income allocation. It provides access to a broad range of assets, meeting local regulatory requirements and offering Solvency II capital charge efficiencies.

Brit, an insurer in the Lloyd’s market, and the technology-focused syndicate Ki are the primary investors in this fund.

Schroders Solutions, the investment advisor for Lloyd’s, selected Fiera Capital (UK) Limited to manage the new fund after thorough due diligence and approval (see Global Reinsurance Market Report).

  • Core Fixed income mandate that is fully compliant with regulations of the Canadian Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), CDS-cleared assets only.
  • Solvency II efficient: Investment grade only, duration-matched, no securitised assets, minimum BBB credit rating
  • Lloyd’s ESG considerations compliant.
  • Fiera Capital (UK) Limited is the distributor for the fund.

There is no guarantee the Fund will achieve any investment objective or guideline over this market cycle or any other time period. The value of investments and the income from them may go down as well as up and investors may not get back the amounts originally invested.

The Lloyd’s Investment Platform broadens investment opportunities and enhances operational efficiencies by collective investing.

The Canadian Core Fixed Income Fund is the second public asset fund on this platform, following previous launches of public and private asset funds within the last year.
