Marsh McLennan to acquire Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance for $345 mn

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), the middle-market subsidiary of Marsh, has acquired Robins Insurance, a Nashville-based independent brokerage. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Robins Insurance, founded in 1976, serves commercial and personal lines clients with specialty practices in real estate, construction, hospitality, community associations, and manufacturing.

All employees, including CEO Van Robins, will remain in place at the Nashville office.

Peter Krause, president and CEO of MMA’s Southeast region, said the deal strengthens the firm’s presence in one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the U.S.

We admire the Robins team’s commitment to colleague development and excellent client service. Combined with their deep industry expertise, they will be a valuable asset for our clients and colleagues.

Robins said the partnership comes at a time when clients need broader solutions to address emerging risks.

“Today’s risk landscape continues to evolve, and it requires a unique perspective to truly protect clients from the unexpected,” he said. “We’re excited to tap into the vast network of MMA’s resources to bring superior solutions to clients in our footprint.”

The acquisition extends MMA’s strategy of building scale in regional markets while adding sector-specific expertise across the U.S. and Canada.
