Ralio raises $2.5 mn to build payment rails for AI agents

Ralio, a UK startup focused on payment infrastructure for AI agents, secured $2.5mn in an oversubscribed pre-seed round.

Sure Valley Ventures led the deal, with backing from Seed X, Love Ventures, Plug and Play, rule30, Adeline Arts and Science, Endurance Ventures, Campus Fund, fintech investor Alan Morgan, alongside continued capital from Antler.

AI agents now operate with growing autonomy. Payment systems still assume human control. They rely on manual authentication, approval chains, and fraud checks built around user behaviour.

Ralio points to the gap. Workarounds used to let agents transact introduce financial exposure and reputational risk. According to Beinsure analysts, these stopgap fixes don’t scale.

The company builds a dedicated payments layer for agent-driven activity. It embeds guardrails, identity checks, and audit logs directly into transactions. Businesses get structured oversight. AI systems move funds across bank transfers, cards, and stablecoins.

We think this shifts trust boundaries. Less human intervention, more system-level control.

Ralio plans to allocate funds toward core platform development and hiring engineers in London.

Ghali Bennani Laafiret, CEO of Ralio, says AI agents have moved beyond productivity tasks. They now act as economic participants, handling procurement and capital flows. Finance infrastructure still expects human input.

AI agents are no longer just productivity tools, they are becoming autonomous economic actors capable of procuring services and managing capital. However, the world of finance is still built for human intervention.

He adds Ralio focuses on a missing layer for enterprise adoption. The platform targets safe, scalable agent-driven finance. Funding supports faster product build-out and tighter accountability as AI systems begin executing transactions.

“Ralio is building the missing layer that makes agentic finance safe and scalable for the enterprise. This funding will allow us to accelerate our product development and ensure that as AI begins to transact, it does so within a framework of total accountability.”
