Insurtech Simply Business launches ChatGPT app for instant insurance pricing

Simply Business, a digital insurance marketplace focused on small businesses and landlords, launched a business insurance app inside ChatGPT in the U.S., alongside a separate UK version. The release adds a new distribution channel aimed at simplifying how small businesses access insurance pricing.

The app connects directly to Simply Business’ indicative pricing system while maintaining security and privacy controls.

Users enter three inputs (business type, estimated annual revenue, and ZIP code) and receive an immediate price estimate. The process then shifts to the Simply Business website, where customers complete full quotes and purchase policies through a secure environment.

Simply Business aims to make insurance accessible and hassle-free for small enterprises. Its platform matches business owners with tailored quotes from a panel of trusted insurers, covering over 1,500 types of trades, from contractors and consultants to landlords.

By leveraging data analytics and technology, the company streamlines policy comparison, purchase, and management, saving time and reducing complexity for customers.

According to Beinsure analysts, embedding pricing tools within conversational platforms reflects a broader shift toward meeting users inside decision workflows rather than redirecting them early in the journey. This approach reduces friction at the discovery stage and improves conversion potential.

The launch builds on Simply Business’ wider AI strategy. In October 2025, the company introduced a hyper-personalised advisor in the U.S. designed to streamline insurance research and selection.

The ChatGPT app extends that effort, focusing on faster entry points into the buying process.

The app appears within the ChatGPT App Directory and can surface when users ask about business risk or insurance needs. This positioning allows small business owners to access pricing insights during early-stage planning without leaving the platform.

The marketplace offers a wide range of commercial insurance products including general liability, professional indemnity, business owner’s policies, and landlord coverage. Customers can obtain instant online quotes, adjust policies digitally, or consult licensed agents for advice.

David Summers said the company continues evolving how small businesses research and purchase insurance. He pointed to more than one million customers globally and described the ChatGPT launch as a step toward simplifying access and improving the buying experience across markets.

Dana Edwards said small business owners already rely on tools like ChatGPT for planning and decision-making. Integrating pricing into that environment removes barriers between users and coverage options. She added that the app was built with safeguards to meet expectations around data protection and responsible AI use.

The app operates as a distribution layer and does not collect personally identifiable information within ChatGPT. All policy transactions take place on the company’s secure platform.

Simply Business offers a marketplace model, connecting small businesses with multiple insurers across products such as general liability, professional liability, business owner’s policies, workers’ compensation, and cyber coverage.

Founded in 2005 in the United Kingdom, it simplifies buying business insurance by allowing users to compare, customize, and purchase coverage online. The company serves more than one million customers globally and operates in both the UK and the United States.

Starting as a five-person team, Simply Business now employs over a thousand people. It launched U.S. operations in 2017, expanding its reach through partnerships with major insurers such as Hiscox, Markel, and CNA. The company continues to invest in AI and customer experience innovations to improve digital brokerage efficiency.
