Specialty Managing General Agent (MGA) Nirvana has appointed Kevin Kettrick as Cyber Lead London, adding more than 25 years of London market experience to its cyber underwriting operation.
Kettrick has spent 15 years underwriting SME and mid-market cyber risks. He previously co-founded Ptarmigan Underwriting Ltd, which Gallagher acquired in 2022, before establishing specialist cyber MGA Clovasure.
The appointment forms part of Nirvana’s continued product expansion across the UK and international markets. The group recently merged with UK-based Pulse Insurance Limited and acquired Arena NV in 2025.
Nirvana also agreed in July 2026 to acquire Ryan C&S, the Swedish public sector division of Ryan Nordics. The transaction adds another business to the MGA’s expanding European operation.
Kettrick will initially focus on excess cyber business in London. Nirvana plans to develop a primary cyber product later in the year as it broadens its standalone offering.
He said Nirvana has established a strong reputation in media liability alongside a long-running mid-market position across combined technology and cyber insurance.
Kettrick said he intends to strengthen the MGA’s standalone cyber proposition and work with both existing and new brokers and agents. His remit also covers supporting Nirvana’s international expansion plans.
Rob Jones, Chairman and Head of Media, Technology and Cyber at Nirvana, said Kettrick brings underwriting experience, market knowledge and broker relationships to the group.
Jones said the cyber expansion follows naturally from Nirvana’s established media, technology and cyber portfolio. He added that the appointment gives the MGA a broader proposition for London market partners and international distribution relationships.
Nirvana has been extending its product range through acquisitions and senior underwriting hires. The addition of Kettrick gives the business a dedicated London lead for standalone cyber as it develops both excess and primary capacity.
His appointment also adds specialist cyber underwriting experience gained across independent MGA businesses and larger insurance distribution groups. That background includes building products for SME and mid-market clients within the London insurance market.
Nirvana’s next phase in cyber will begin with excess placements before moving into primary coverage later in 2026. The company expects Kettrick to lead product development and broker engagement as the London operation expands.
