Venezuela insurtech market moves to form trade group and join AIP network

Venezuela’s insurtech sector has started work on forming a national industry association, with participants looking to the Pan-American Insurtech Alliance as a regional reference.

The initiative followed a Sept. 8, 2026 meeting organised by SUDEASEG, Venezuela’s insurance regulator. It marked the first in-person gathering of all insurtech companies approved in the country.

Masiva Insurtech, a SUDEASEG-approved company focused on mass distribution of microinsurance, is supporting the proposal. The company also operates Humanizze, an insurance culture and education project developed with Hablemos Seguros & Finanzas magazine.

Following the regulatory meeting, participating firms discussed creating a Venezuelan insurtech trade group. Masiva said the proposal draws on the regional structure developed by the Pan-American Insurtech Alliance, or AIP.

The company is documenting the initiative and preparing formal support for submission to Venezuela’s Superintendent of Insurance Activity.

Masiva has also approached the AIP and its member organisations to discuss how the regional network was formed. The company wants to understand the requirements a future Venezuelan association would need to meet before seeking participation in the alliance.

The AIP grew out of the Insurtech Alliance of the Pacific. Its regional scope expanded in October 2024 following the addition of the Argentine Insurtech Chamber.

The network now brings together more than 250 members through national organisations including InsurteChile and the Colombian Insurtech Association. The Mexican Insurtech Association and Argentine Insurtech Chamber also participate.

Masiva recently contacted those four organisations separately to present the Venezuelan initiative. It has now approached the AIP leadership as part of the same institutional effort.

The proposed discussions would focus on the alliance’s formation and expansion process. Masiva also wants details on membership requirements for a future Venezuelan trade group.

Another area involves cooperation between industry media and content channels. The company is seeking opportunities for cross-market visibility involving Venezuelan and regional insurtech communities.

Potential areas of cooperation include the AIP Code of Ethics and AIP Awards. Masiva also wants to explore broader content initiatives linked to insurance education and industry development.

The Venezuelan group has proposed an initial institutional meeting by video call. Discussions would focus on how a national insurtech association might connect with the existing Pan-American network once formally established.
