Hemant Nagpal – Regional Director, Head of Analytics (APAC) at Gallagher Re
Hemant Nagpal is a head of analytics for the Asia Pacific region at Gallagher Re effective January 2025, leading the firm’s regional analytics strategy and development.
Nagpal, who joined Gallagher Re in 2021, previously served as head of catastrophe analytics for Asia Pacific. In his new role, he will oversee the region’s analytical operations, focusing on catastrophe modeling, risk assessment, and data-driven decision support for reinsurance and risk management clients.
He brings more than two decades of experience in catastrophe modeling and insurance analytics, having held senior positions at RMS, Guy Carpenter, and Aon Re Asia. Across these roles, Nagpal has worked with insurers and reinsurers across multiple markets, shaping strategies to quantify and mitigate large-scale risk exposures.
Nagpal holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He also holds professional designations including Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), underscoring his technical and underwriting expertise.
Gallagher Re said Nagpal’s appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to expanding analytical capabilities across Asia Pacific, a region facing increasingly complex catastrophe and climate-related risk dynamics.
