Valeria Ermakova – Associate Director, Analytics at AM Best
Valeria Ermakova is an Associate Director in the Analytics division at AM Best, based in London. She is responsible for the financial analysis and rating recommendations for a portfolio of high-profile life and non-life insurance clients. Her role includes assessing balance sheet strength, asset quality, capitalization, reinsurance structures, operating performance, business profiles, and enterprise risk management.
She conducts regular meetings with C-suite executives to review financial results, strategic plans, and risk exposures, providing analytical feedback and guidance. Valeria also manages a team of credit rating analysts, overseeing their work and mentoring junior staff. She presents findings to rating committees and communicates results to clients and stakeholders.
In addition to her analytical responsibilities, she is the author of several AM Best market reports and frequently speaks at industry events, covering topics such as rating methodology, innovation, macroeconomic trends, and cyber risk.
Her earlier experience includes roles in property underwriting, coordination of global insurance programs, and motor claims handling. Prior to joining AM Best, she worked at Renaissance Insurance and MAKC in Russia.
Valeria holds a PhD in Economics and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance. She has passed CFA Level II and Level I certifications from the CFA Institute.
