Georgia Insurance Commissioner says Allstate rate cut to save drivers $17.7 mn in 2026

New Georgia laws reshape courts and health insurance

The Office of the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner has announced that Georgia drivers are expected to save approximately $17.7 mn in 2026 after Allstate North American Insurance Company filed to lower its auto insurance rates.

According to Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King, Allstate has submitted a filing to reduce private passenger auto insurance premiums by 5% statewide.

The reduction is expected to affect tens of thousands of policyholders.

In a statement, the Commissioner’s office said the rate decrease is projected to generate around $17.7 mn in total savings for Georgia drivers next year.

The filing applies to Allstate’s private passenger auto insurance policies across the state.

State officials said the reduction reflects ongoing regulatory efforts focused on improving affordability, increasing transparency and protecting consumers in Georgia’s insurance market.

These savings reflect the positive direction of Georgia’s insurance market and the continued emphasis on affordability.

“Our focus remains on promoting a competitive and consumer-first marketplace, and today’s reduction provides further confirmation that our approach is working for Georgians,” King said.
