Huntington T. Block Insurance Agency has appointed Emily Schaffer as senior vice president of fine art insurance.
The Aon subsidiary specializes in insurance for fine art and musical instruments. Huntington T. Block describes itself as the oldest and largest U.S. insurance broker focused on these markets.
Schaffer will manage daily relationships with major fine art accounts. She brings more than 15 years of experience designing and managing global insurance programs for museums and galleries.
Her background also includes work with auction houses and multinational corporations. She has advised private collectors and other art-market clients on complex insurance placements.
Risk & Insurance Magazine has named Schaffer a Fine Art Power Broker five times. She will work from New York and report to Huntington T. Block President Diane Jackson.
Jackson said Schaffer brings established brokerage experience and strong relationships across the fine art insurance market.

Schaffer joins Huntington T. Block after working at Risk Strategies Company. She most recently served there as vice president and team leader for fine arts.
In that position, Schaffer supervised a team and managed complex global accounts. She also worked on sales pipeline development across the company’s fine arts business.
Schaffer said Huntington T. Block’s specialization and claims capabilities attracted her to the firm. She also pointed to its long-standing relationships across the art market.
