Finshape launches Agentic DBOS to accelerate digital banking projects

Finshape has launched Agentic DBOS (ADBOS), an artificial intelligence-enabled extension of its Digital Bank Operating System (DBOS), designed to accelerate digital banking development while giving financial institutions greater control over AI-supported operations.

The platform incorporates agentic AI into the processes banks use to analyze requirements, design services, develop applications, conduct testing and introduce new digital products.

  • Finshape has introduced Agentic DBOS (ADBOS), integrating agentic artificial intelligence into its Digital Bank Operating System to support the development, testing and deployment of digital banking services.
  • ADBOS is already being used in projects involving OTP Group, with one AI-supported digital application in production. Recent projects reached initial production in 6-7 months, compared with 9-12 months for comparable earlier MVPs.
  • The platform builds on technology used by more than 100 banks worldwide, with an emphasis on AI governance, auditability, customer personalization and compatibility with existing banking systems.

Finshape says the technology can also help banks better understand customer requirements, deliver more personalized interactions and improve servicing across digital channels.

The company has already deployed ADBOS in banking projects, including work for OTP Group, with its AI agents supporting daily development activities.

Finshape reports faster digital banking deployment with agentic AI

Finshape’s delivery teams are using ADBOS agents in their regular workflows, and the first digital application developed with their assistance has entered production.

In recent projects, the company reported launching initial production versions of digital banking services within 6-7 months using ADBOS.

Comparable minimum viable products (MVPs) developed previously required approximately 9-12 months, according to Finshape.

The figures indicate shorter delivery periods in the projects cited, although the company did not provide a broader performance comparison across its customer base.

András Sebők, Chief Information Officer of OTP Bank, said cooperation between the bank and Finshape had contributed to the progress achieved.

The project is progressing at a strong pace, and the close cooperation between our teams has played an important role in that.

“We are happy with the way we are working together and with the results delivered so far, and we look forward to building on this momentum.”

Agentic DBOS combines AI automation with banking governance

ADBOS builds on Finshape’s established DBOS platform, which is used by more than 100 banks worldwide.

The system draws on the company’s approximately three decades of banking technology experience and is designed to operate alongside existing banking infrastructure.

Finshape positions ADBOS as a way for banks to introduce AI-supported development and servicing capabilities without replacing their established technology platforms.

The company identifies faster product delivery, improved customer and employee experiences, lower servicing costs and additional revenue opportunities as potential benefits.

A central consideration is the use of artificial intelligence in a highly regulated industry, where automated processes must remain predictable, auditable and subject to institutional oversight.

Finshape says ADBOS is designed around these requirements, allowing banks to retain control over AI agents and their activities.

Finshape CEO Neil Budd outlines digital banking strategy

Neil Budd, Chief Executive Officer of Finshape, described the launch as a change in how the company intends to support the development and operation of digital banking services. “ADBOS marks a turning point for Finshape and for our clients,” Budd said.

It’s a new way for banks to build, launch and scale digital experiences, faster and smarter than ever before. Banks don’t need another layer of technology. They need a foundation built for what comes next. ADBOS is that foundation. It gives banks the speed, intelligence and control to compete on their own terms.

The launch extends Finshape’s existing digital banking platform with AI agents intended to support both technology delivery and customer-facing services.

With ADBOS already supporting projects involving OTP Group and an AI-assisted application operating in production, Finshape is moving beyond the initial introduction of agentic AI toward its use in established banking development processes.
