Lockton has launched a dedicated US Aviation Practice, creating a national platform for aviation and aerospace clients facing more demanding operational, regulatory, geopolitical and insurance market conditions. The brokerage also appointed Taylor Anderson as US Aviation Practice Leader.
Lockton, the world’s largest privately held independent insurance brokerage, said the new practice brings its US aviation specialists and industry resources into a more coordinated structure.
The group will also work with Lockton’s international network on aviation risks requiring expertise outside the US.
The practice will provide insurance placement, risk advisory services and risk management support across the aviation and aerospace sector.
Lockton is expanding its aviation capabilities as airlines, aerospace companies and related businesses deal with changing insurance capacity, regulation and geopolitical exposure.
The new structure gives US clients access to specialists across different Lockton businesses through one aviation practice.
Its work will include commercial aviation and aerospace risks, along with specialized areas such as space launch.
Lockton said the practice will concentrate on improving client service and aviation specialization, increasing cooperation across business units and adding talent as the operation grows.
The brokerage also plans to expand its presence across major aviation segments in the US. International specialists will support US clients requiring expertise in space launch or other specialized insurance areas.
Taylor Anderson to lead US aviation business. He moves into the national leadership position after seven years as Lockton’s Senior Vice President, Defense & Aerospace for the southeastern US.
In that role, he advised government contractors and aerospace companies on identifying risks, structuring insurance programs and managing exposures in heavily regulated operations. He has also worked on the expansion of Lockton’s aviation business across the US.
The launch of Lockton’s U.S. Aviation Practice strengthens our ability to deliver specialized, forward-looking solutions for clients across one of the world’s most complex and dynamic industries.
Patrick Simonds, Lockton’s US Strategy & Operations Director
Simonds said Anderson’s aviation background and experience working across Lockton businesses made him suited to lead the national practice.
Anderson’s work spans airlines and commercial aviation, aerospace and defense contractors, aircraft leasing and finance.
His experience also covers airports and aviation infrastructure, maintenance, repair and overhaul operations, plus US and foreign governments and mission-based aviation programs.
The range gives the practice exposure to insurance needs across aircraft ownership, operations, manufacturing and aviation infrastructure.
Lockton already maintained aviation and aerospace specialists in the US and across its international operations. The national practice gives those resources a more defined US structure and a single leadership point.
Anderson said the new practice puts Lockton in a stronger position to provide aviation clients with specialist insurance knowledge, technical analysis and access to international resources.
Anderson will also work across Lockton’s global aviation capabilities when US clients have exposures extending into foreign markets or specialized sectors.
“I’m honored to help lead this next phase of growth as we support aviation organizations across the U.S. and use our global capabilities,” Anderson said.
