American actress Selma Blair was arrested and hospitalized following an alleged assault on two flight attendants aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York on October 11, 2026.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said officers responded at approximately 11 p.m. local time to reports of a “physically abusive passenger” aboard Delta Flight 938 after it arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Blair, 54, known for her roles in Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions and Hellboy, was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.

Two flight attendants reported injuries during the incident, and one was also taken to a hospital for further assessment.

According to CBS News, crew members allegedly restrained Blair during the flight. Air traffic control recordings obtained by the broadcaster included the pilot requesting medical assistance and referring to a “bloody nose as well as some bite marks.”

Blair punched one flight attendant, bit another and attempted to open an aircraft door during the flight. Authorities have not publicly confirmed those specific allegations.

A representative for the actress attributed the incident to a medical emergency. “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” her publicist said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed that it is examining a potential assault aboard the aircraft but declined to provide further information while its investigation continues. It remains unclear whether Blair will face criminal charges.

Delta Air Lines confirmed that law enforcement officers met the aircraft upon arrival in New York. The airline said the incident caused no operational disruption and that the flight landed ahead of schedule.

Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.

Blair previously experienced an in-flight incident in 2016 while traveling from Cancún, Mexico, to Los Angeles. She was removed from the aircraft on a stretcher after an episode that she subsequently attributed to combining alcohol with medication.

The actress publicly apologized, saying the combination caused her to lose consciousness and behave in ways she deeply regretted.

In 2018, Blair disclosed that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a neurological condition that significantly affected her acting career. She announced in 2021 that the disease was in remission.

No connection between her medical history and the October 11 incident has been established. The cause of the reported medical emergency has not been disclosed.

The FBI investigation remains ongoing, with authorities yet to announce further legal action concerning the alleged confrontation.
