Cloud data security insurtech Sentra secured $50 mn in Series B funding, increasing its total capital raised to over $100 mn.

Key1 Capital led the round, joined by previous investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, and Munich Re Ventures.

Founded in 2021, with offices in New York City and Tel Aviv, Sentra reported over 300% year-over-year revenue growth and added several Fortune 500 clients.

The company assists organizations in identifying and reducing data security risks within public cloud systems.

The funding will support Sentra’s expansion of its platform, focusing on rising challenges related to generative AI (GenAI), AI assistants, and shadow data — unmanaged data assets created and used outside of IT oversight.

Danny Akerman, co-founder and managing partner at Key1 Capital, stated that organizations were already facing difficulties managing data during the shift to cloud and hybrid systems. With stricter data regulations and rapid AI adoption, these challenges have intensified.

Akerman highlighted Sentra’s role in providing the visibility and control required to secure sensitive data across multi-cloud, on-premises, and AI-related environments without slowing operations.

“Intensified data regulations combined with AI’s rapid enterprise adoption have dramatically escalated these challenges. Sentra is uniquely positioned to address this critical problem by delivering essential visibility and control needed to secure sensitive data across multi-cloud, on-premises, and AI-powered environments — without slowing innovation,” said Danny Akerman.

Yoav Regev, Sentra’s CEO and co-founder, stressed the importance of securing enterprise data amid the rise of AI technologies. He noted that while organizations aim to adopt AI quickly, they remain concerned about exposing sensitive data.

Sentra offers the tools to secure data across all stages, allowing enterprises to advance their AI initiatives with greater confidence.

Sentra’s growth aligns with the increasing demand for advanced data security solutions as enterprises face tighter regulations and the rapid development of AI technologies.
