Skyline Public Adjusters has appointed Joseph W. Hansen as vice president of strategic accounts, expanding his responsibilities across the firm’s client and claims operations.
In the new position, Hansen will focus on strategic client relationships and first-party insurance claims. His work will connect policyholders and their advisers with Skyline’s network of adjusting specialists and technical resources. He will also coordinate access to other professional services used during complex property claims.
Jeffrey Major, founder and president of Skyline Adjusters, said Hansen has delivered meaningful results since joining the firm. He described Hansen as a valuable contributor to client work and internal operations.
Major said the expanded role strengthens Skyline’s work across national accounts and private clients. Hansen will also take on broader responsibilities involving large-loss property claims. The appointment, Major added, recognizes his work since joining Skyline and his contribution to client service.
Hansen joined Skyline Adjusters in 2024 as an account manager serving private clients. Before that, he founded JWH Solutions, a public adjusting and risk-management consulting business. The firm worked extensively with Skyline Adjusters before Hansen formally joined the company.
Across his career, Hansen has worked on property insurance matters involving more than $400 mn in first-party property losses and third-party litigation. His claims experience includes complex investigations and loss strategy development. He has also worked on recovery planning involving large or technically demanding losses.
Those assignments required coordination across multidisciplinary claims teams. Hansen has worked with inspectors and estimators, along with contractors and consultants. Other technical professionals joined those teams where individual claims required specialist input.
Before entering public adjusting, Hansen worked as a senior national executive in the homeowner and condominium association management sector.
He managed more than 400 associations during that period. His responsibilities later expanded into national oversight of major insurance claims and capital replacement projects.
Hansen said first-party insurance claims have become more complex, increasing the need for dedicated claims teams with extensive experience. He said Skyline gives clients access to professional resources and claims expertise. The firm’s advocacy work supports policyholders seeking financial recovery after catastrophic events.
Hansen also served more than 15 years in the U.S. Army as a Special Forces officer. His assignments included deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also served at several locations across Europe in operational and leadership positions.
During his military career, Hansen received the Bronze Star Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. His awards also include two Army Commendation Medals and the Army Achievement Medal.
Hansen earned a B.S. in criminal justice from the University of North Georgia.
