TransRe partners with insurtech Cytora to digitize facultative reinsurance

TransRe struck a global deal with Cytora to digitize acultative reinsurance

TransRe has struck a global deal with Cytora, an AI-driven solution provider for insurers, to digitize its facultative reinsurance operations. The new system frees underwriters and claims specialists to focus on complex risks.

The reinsurer will deploy Cytora’s AI-driven Concierge platform to process higher volumes of submissions, cut operational costs, and improve data accuracy.

Cytora CEO Richard Hartley described risk digitization as a driver of efficiency across insurance workflows, noting it enables premium growth without a proportional rise in expenses.

He said TransRe plans to use generative AI to strengthen risk selection and deliver better client service, with the partnership aimed at boosting profitability in its facultative segment.

Risk digitization is having a tremendous impact across all major workflows and is demonstrating a clear path to a scalable business model where growth in premium is increasingly decoupled from growth in expense.

“TransRe has a compelling vision to use Generative AI as a foundation for business growth with improved control over risk selection and enhanced service. Our partnership will enable TransRe to drive profitable growth across their facultative business,” Richard Hartley said.

TransRe COO Matt Mahoney called facultative reinsurance a high-volume business and praised Cytora’s scalability and performance.

He said the platform strengthens the capabilities of underwriting and claims teams, leading to improved outcomes for business partners.

Facultative insurance is a high-flow business, and we have been impressed by the functionality and scalability of Cytora’s platform. We are excited to work together to drive digitization across our business.

The agreement comes shortly after Cytora introduced Unified Risk Reasoning, a tool that automates pre-decisioning by reviewing, selecting, and finalizing key risk fields.

The company says the technology speeds up processing, improves efficiency, and lowers costs for insurers, brokers, and reinsurers.

AI-insurtech Cytora launched Cytora Platform 3.0, an upgraded agentic AI

Cytora has launched Cytora Platform 3.0, an upgraded version of its digital risk processing system. This version improves capabilities using agentic AI.

According to Cytora, Version 3.0 can digitize any transaction, regardless of size or complexity, without requiring training. Insurers can process their entire intake, including detailed risk submission documents.

Agentic AI coordinates digitization agents that operate and explain decisions like humans. The platform includes tools for administrators to speed up reviews of extensive data fields, such as property lists and claims. Fast-track functions highlight only the fields that need validation, streamlining the review process.

Cytora states that Version 3.0 improves transparency by allowing digitization agents to justify decisions like integrated team members. This ensures clear, reliable results while increasing processing capacity.
