Markus Gesmann is a co-founder of Insurance Capital Markets Research, a quantitative research consultancy specializing in the Lloyd’s of London market and the global specialty (re)insurance sector. ICMR delivers independent, data-driven research and performance modelling for insurers, intermediaries, and investors. In 2021, the firm launched the RISX equity index as a benchmark for global specialty (re)insurance investments.

At Bayes Business School, Markus serves as an Honorary Visiting Fellow within the Faculty of Actuarial Science & Insurance, contributing expertise in data analytics and risk modelling.

He is also a trustee at the Poplar, Blackwall & District Rowing Club and has been involved in the Insurance Data Science Conference as co-founder and co-organizer since 2013. Additionally, he founded the Bayesian Mixer, a forum for statisticians and data scientists to share applied Bayesian methods.
