Insurtech Shory launches Tesla insurance in UAE with EVS and Al Wathba

Shory Group has partnered with Electric Vehicle Services and Al Wathba Insurance to launch motor insurance designed specifically for Tesla vehicles in the UAE. The product is available exclusively through Shory and combines digital insurance distribution with specialist electric vehicle repair services.

Al Wathba Insurance provides the motor coverage, while EVS handles repairs through its electric vehicle service network. EVS uses OEM-grade parts and certified components, with work performed by technicians specializing in electric vehicles.

Shory said the product addresses insurance access, pricing consistency and specialist repair availability for Tesla owners. The company also said it is the only UAE insurance offering that guarantees repairs through EVS, which it identifies as the country’s authorized Tesla repair partner.

Repairs are intended to follow manufacturer requirements for Tesla vehicles. The arrangement links insurance placement and claims-related repair services through the three participating companies.

As electric vehicles continue to gain traction in the UAE, it is important that insurance solutions evolve in parallel with both the technology and customer expectations.

Aoun Al Smadi, CEO of Shory UAE

Aoun Al Smadi said the partnership combines digital distribution with specialist servicing and motor coverage designed around Tesla ownership.

Al Wathba Insurance CEO Shukri Salem Mussabih Almheiri said electric vehicles require different underwriting and claims considerations from conventional vehicles. He said the insurer developed the product around the specific requirements of EV owners.

EVS Founder and CEO Saeed Aljunaibi said the company is developing specialist servicing infrastructure for electric vehicles. Its role in the partnership focuses on repair facilities, trained technicians and support for Tesla drivers after insured losses.

The launch expands Shory’s existing range of electric vehicle insurance products. Earlier in 2026, the InsurTech introduced dedicated coverage for Chinese electric vehicles in the UAE.

Shory said the Tesla product is another addition to its specialized EV insurance business. The company operates as a First tech business and forms part of Judan Financial Holding, IHC’s financial services platform.
