Progressive Insurance expands Denny Hamlin sponsorship to 24 NASCAR races in 2027

Progressive Insurance has expanded its sponsorship agreement with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), committing to serve as the primary sponsor of Denny Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE for 24 NASCAR Cup Series races in 2027.

The agreement more than doubles Progressive’s scheduled primary sponsorship presence from 11 races in 2026 and extends a partnership established in March 2025.

  • Progressive Insurance will sponsor Denny Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE in 24 NASCAR Cup Series events in 2027, more than doubling its 2026 commitment.
  • The expanded agreement covers the Daytona 500 on February 21 and eight of the 10 NASCAR Chase races.
  • The partnership, launched in March 2025, has delivered multiple race victories and expanded into advertising, fan engagement and community initiatives.

The expanded schedule includes the 69th Daytona 500 on February 21, 2027, as well as eight of the 10 NASCAR Chase events, giving Progressive a larger presence during both the regular season and championship competition.

The sponsorship will also cover races at Circuit of the Americas, Phoenix Raceway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Dover Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, Michigan International Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and other venues.

Progressive will sponsor Hamlin during the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 23.

Its Chase commitments include races at Watkins Glen, New Hampshire, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Phoenix, Talladega and Martinsville, followed by the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 14.

Progressive expands partnership following NASCAR success

The increased commitment follows two seasons of competitive results for Hamlin under Progressive sponsorship.

During the partnership’s first year in 2025, Hamlin recorded three victories while driving the Progressive-branded Toyota and finished second in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings.

In 2026, he secured two additional victories in Progressive colors, winning the NASCAR All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway and the race at Nashville Superspeedway.

Hamlin enters the November 8 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway ranked third in the Chase standings, having recorded four Cup Series victories this year.

The 2027 campaign will be his 22nd full-time season in NASCAR’s top division.

Hamlin has accumulated 64 career Cup Series victories, placing him ninth on the all-time wins list. His record includes three Daytona 500 wins, three Southern 500 victories and the 2022 Coca-Cola 600.

The driver welcomed Progressive’s increased sponsorship commitment, saying the relationship had developed successfully through racing results and activities outside the sport.

Sponsorship extends into advertising and community initiatives

Progressive has also expanded its use of Hamlin in marketing campaigns and customer engagement programs.

During 2026, the insurer featured him in two commercials, Story Time and Victory Celebration, and organized its first Reddit Ask Me Anything session featuring the NASCAR driver.

Hamlin participated in meetings with Progressive agents in Cleveland in May and attended the company’s New to Blue event in Boston in September.

The partnership has also included charitable activities. Hamlin and Progressive recently contributed $10,000 to Lanier Elementary School in Gainesville, Georgia, and fulfilled a teacher’s Amazon Wish List during a surprise classroom visit.

Progressive Chief Marketing Officer Mari Pumarejo said the relationship had developed beyond conventional race sponsorship, with Hamlin becoming increasingly involved in the company’s broader marketing and employee engagement activities.

Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing, said Progressive had continued to expand its sponsorship program through advertising, community events and experiences at NASCAR venues.

The agreement reflects a growing commitment by Progressive to motorsports marketing, with the insurer increasing its exposure across major NASCAR events and using Hamlin’s established profile to support campaigns beyond the racetrack.

For Joe Gibbs Racing, the expanded deal secures a larger sponsorship commitment around one of its leading drivers as the team prepares for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season.
