Main Street America Insurance has introduced a refreshed brand identity as it concentrates its business strategy on commercial lines insurance, farm and ranch coverage, and surety bonds, reinforcing its commitment to distribution through independent agents.
The updated branding, introduced to agents, policyholders and consumers, follows the insurer’s decision to place greater emphasis on commercial insurance opportunities.
- Main Street America Insurance has introduced a refreshed brand, emphasizing commercial lines, farm and ranch insurance, surety bonds and its exclusive distribution through independent agents.
- The insurer has enhanced its commercial quoting platform and launched new Farm and Ranch capabilities, with plans to expand availability to additional states.
- A purchase agreement was signed for its 130,000-square-foot office property in Keene, New Hampshire, previously listed for approximately $7 mn, as the insurer reduces its office footprint.
The company said the narrower focus would allow it to accelerate product development, improve service capabilities and simplify the quoting process for its agency partners.
The new identity includes the tagline “We Mean Business”, reflecting the insurer’s positioning around commercial coverage, regional market expertise and customer support. Its “Agents First Agents Only” designation reinforces the company’s commitment to making its products available exclusively through independent insurance agencies.
“Our updated look is a visual representation of our successful future: one powered by people and partnerships and measured by the value of the relationships we build and not just the number of policies we sell,” said Richard Vaughn, Head of Sales at Main Street America Insurance.
Main Street America strengthens commercial insurance and farm coverage
The company’s commercial lines strategy includes improvements to its quoting platform and the introduction of new Commercial Farm and Ranch capabilities.
The Farm and Ranch enhancements incorporate built-in eligibility checklists and standardized processes using new Insurance Services Office (ISO) forms.
The updated capabilities are currently available in a limited number of states, with Main Street America planning to extend them to additional markets over the following year.
According to the insurer, concentrating resources on commercial lines will support faster delivery of product innovations and service improvements. The strategy also prioritizes making the quoting experience more accessible and efficient for agents working with business and agricultural insurance customers.
Independent agents remain central to distribution strategy
Main Street America has also expanded direct engagement with its independent agency network through a series of Empowering Partnership Summits organized by senior sales executives.
The meetings brought together more than 150 insurance agents representing 120 agencies. Company representatives outlined Main Street America’s business strategy, discussed its commercial lines priorities and invited feedback from distribution partners.
The summits formed part of the insurer’s stated commitment to transparency and stronger relationships with independent agents.
Its refreshed branding places those partnerships at the center of the company’s market positioning. The “We Mean Business” tagline emphasizes commercial insurance expertise, while the “Agents First Agents Only” mark identifies independent agencies as its exclusive distribution channel.
The insurer said its approach combines regional underwriting expertise, coverage products and customer-focused service, with independent agents continuing to serve as the primary connection between Main Street America and policyholders.
Main Street America agrees sale of Keene office property
Separately, Main Street America Insurance has pursued plans to reduce its physical office footprint in Keene, New Hampshire, where the company was founded more than a century ago.
A purchase agreement was signed for its longtime property at 55 West St., with developers Jack Franks of Avanru Development Group and Dick Anagnost of Anagnost Companies identified as the prospective buyers.
According to a May 12, 2026 report by MyKeeneNow, the developers expected to acquire the property later that summer, although the transaction had not closed when the agreement was announced.
The property had been listed for sale in spring 2025 with a reported asking price of approximately $7 mn. The parties declined to disclose the agreed purchase price, citing a non-disclosure agreement.
The transaction covers a four-story, 130,000-square-foot office building, two additional buildings and the surrounding land. Constructed in 1950, the main building has long been one of Keene’s recognizable corporate properties.
Anagnost said at the time that no specific redevelopment plans had been finalized, with the prospective buyers continuing their due diligence.
Insurer consolidates offices following shift to hybrid work
Main Street America previously announced its intention to sell the West Street property after determining that it no longer required the same amount of office space.
The decision followed the expansion of hybrid working arrangements after the COVID-19 pandemic, which reduced the company’s need for traditional office accommodation.
Under the relocation plan, employees working at 55 West St. would move to Main Street America’s building at 100 West St., directly across the street.
Janet Masters, a media relations representative for the insurer, confirmed that Main Street America intended to maintain its presence in Keene following the property sale.
The company’s roots in the city date to 1923, when it was established as National Grange Mutual Liability Company. It subsequently adopted the Main Street America Insurance name and merged with American Family Insurance in 2018.
Masters noted that some longtime Keene residents still refer to the insurer as “Grange”, reflecting its original corporate identity.
Keene developers consider future use of insurance property
The prospective buyers have experience in commercial redevelopment and property investment across New Hampshire and the wider New England region.
Franks, whose Avanru Development Group is based in Walpole, has participated in several regional development projects, with recent activity focused on workforce housing and commercial redevelopment.
The company is also constructing an aircraft hangar at Keene Dillant-Hopkins Airport that could eventually support an on-demand charter flight service.
Anagnost, a Manchester-based developer and owner of Keene’s Revo Casino, has increased his investments in the city in recent years. His projects include plans to relocate the casino to the former Toy City building on Key Road.
No final redevelopment proposal for the Main Street America property had been disclosed when the purchase agreement was announced.
The proposed sale would transfer ownership of a longstanding corporate site while allowing Main Street America Insurance to consolidate its local operations at 100 West St. The insurer’s separate commercial lines strategy will continue to center on independent agency distribution, expanded farm and ranch capabilities, and improvements to its business insurance platform.
