MetLife expanded partnership with insurtech Sprout AI to accelerate claims automation

MetLife reported a $4.8 bn net income in FY2024, up from $3.1 bn

MetLife has expanded its partnership with insurance automation provider Sprout:ai to accelerate claims automation and improve customer experience across markets in the U.S., Asia, and Latin America.

This initiative forms part of MetLife’s strategy to modernize its global claims operations through advanced AI technologies.

The collaboration builds on initial results in Latin America, where Sprout.ai’s platform has already produced notable improvements in claims processing speed, decision accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

The platform integrates into insurers’ existing systems, supporting faster and more consistent claims handling while maintaining the role of human judgment and empathy in the process.

Sprout AI CEO Roi Amir stated that the partnership demonstrates the practical impact of AI in insurance.

He noted that reducing processing times and increasing decision accuracy enables MetLife to elevate the standard for customer expectations in claims handling.

This partnership is a clear example of how AI can deliver meaningful change in insurance. By cutting processing times and improving accuracy, we’re helping MetLife raise the bar for what customers can expect from their claims experience. It’s about delivering speed and empathy at scale.

The companies aim to combine Sprout’s automation tools with MetLife’s operational scale and sector experience to deliver a claims process that is faster, more accurate, and more focused on customer outcomes.

Additional rollouts of the platform are scheduled across several regions in the coming months.
