Phase launches decentralized AI agent blockchain mainnet backed by $45 mn

Phase has launched its Layer 1 blockchain mainnet, backed by $45 mn in funding from founder Kirill Eves, who also founded Unlimit, a global financial infrastructure company operating in more than 180 countries and processing over $40 bn in annual payments.

The company is developing decentralized infrastructure for autonomous AI agents, combining web connectivity, AI model orchestration, distributed computing and payment services. Its blockchain operates through a network of consumer devices that validate transactions and provide connectivity and processing capacity for AI applications.

  • Phase has launched its Layer 1 blockchain mainnet with $45 mn in funding from founder Kirill Eves, who also founded global payments company Unlimit.
  • The network allows users to operate blockchain nodes through smartphones, while Phase Proxy provides decentralized web access for AI agents starting at 0.5 USDT.
  • Phase plans to introduce AI model routing and decentralized inference services in November 2026, alongside stablecoin payments and PHASE token rewards.

Unlike blockchain networks that depend on dedicated servers or token staking, Phase allows users to participate using existing devices without purchasing additional hardware or making an upfront investment.

Phase blockchain uses smartphones and reputation-based consensus

The initial rollout supports smartphones, with users able to join the network by downloading the Phase application from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.

Phase uses reputation-based consensus to reward reliable network participation and randomly select validators. The system also verifies device authenticity and node software to reduce the risk of network control becoming concentrated among large operators.

Alongside the mainnet, Phase has introduced Phase Proxy, a service designed to give AI agents access to websites that may otherwise block or restrict automated requests.

The service routes traffic through mobile and residential internet connections supplied by devices participating in the decentralized network.

Pricing starts at 0.5 USDT for 1,000 requests and 1 GB of traffic. Phase compares this with average entry-level pricing exceeding $5 per GB among mobile proxy providers.

Phase plans AI model routing and decentralized computing services

Two additional services are scheduled for November 2026. Phase Router will provide AI agents with a single access point to leading AI models, automatically directing requests between them based on quality, performance and cost.

Phase Compute will use processing resources contributed by network devices to run open-weight AI models, providing decentralized inference capacity for autonomous agents.

The company also plans to develop its own AI model to serve as the platform’s central intelligence. The proposed model will combine advanced reasoning, independent execution of complex tasks and coordination of other AI models.

Stablecoin payments and PHASE token incentives

Phase supports on-chain transactions for AI agents using stablecoins or PHASE, its native blockchain token. Services will operate on a pay-as-you-go model, with support for the x402 payment standard and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible smart contracts.

Device owners will receive PHASE tokens for validating blocks, with additional rewards available for supplying connectivity, inference and computing resources.

Soon, almost everyone will have AI agents acting on their behalf. Whoever controls the infrastructure behind AI agents will control what people can achieve. That power shouldn’t belong to any single company. We’re building Phase as a decentralized network of devices people already own, so millions can help run the infrastructure of the AI economy and share in the value it creates.

Reward allocations will depend on node uptime, network participation and customer demand for the services provided.

Phase intends to generate revenue through its infrastructure services and use a portion of that revenue to purchase PHASE tokens on the open market. The purchased tokens will then be distributed to node operators according to their contributions.
